This was a satisfying end to the Nemesis Saga. I still wish I could get some more Crazy though!
Great End

The premise and setting are compelling, so even though I found the first book severely lackluster, I listened to the 2nd. There are more real challenges, and some of them aren’t instantly and inexplicably resolved without effort from the main character. Overall, the failings of the first book still exist but take a back seat..
It took a book or two, but Author Nathan Lowell’s slow, understated writing style, got me. Well thought out characters that slowly unveil themselves in situations that also slowly evolve. Nathan Lowell is one of my favorite audiobook authors… quite a contrast to another favorite, Martha Wells of that novella hit series Murderbot
Really loved Call to Arms. The portrayal of the space conflicts and battles was thrilling, so well written that they appeared realistic, and spellbinding.
This book has a promising premise: a gritty, realistic story about interstellar travel. Sadly, it quickly devolved into a tale about how the main character is brilliant, and everything goes perfectly. In fact, the word “perfectly” is used nauseatingly often. I have listened to/read so many of the books in this series and just love coming back to these characters in each and every one of the books. It’s like watching old friends go on new adventures. The faults and idiosyncrasies of the characters make them relatable and easy to enjoy. The adventures are wonderful..
So glad to have another series with Ish. We learn more about his vulnerability as he moves to the next stage of his life. And his BFF returns!! A good story that us clearly the start of the series. Nathan Lowell out in more cheeky humour which I loved. Several belly laughs in this book..
This a great book in a great series. I love how the stories are coming together, as well as the characters. This is an intelligently written and fast paced book. you owe it to yourself to give it a listen!
