i was kind of leary about another sci-fi series. this started off kind of slow but rapidly sucked me in. an incredible ride that is worth every moment. fast-paced in many places throughout. the narrator does an amazing job of keeping the listener enthralled and anxious to hear what comes next.
If the author removed every poorly used battle cliché this book would be 3 hours shorter. The series started out so good but has become just poor excuse to keep writing the same stuff over and over again.

I like the storyline and really like the characters; however, the effusive use of the F-Bomb was a turn off for me, sometimes forcing me to fast forward thru CONVERSATIONS because it just wasn’t value added. i don’t associate with people who speak like that, professionally or personally…. and i just don’t think it was..
Phipps keeps this series light and entertaining, however, the main character is facing some deep interpersonal dilemmas. Story is really good, well thought out for a blatant Mortal Kombat ripoff.
