It started out interesting, then came a slow spot, then it got really interesting. It ended satisfactorily, but left room for sequels to follow the same, or different, veins. I was given a free review copy audiobook at my request by the narrator and have voluntarily left this review.

This book was a fun read. Jackson Blackwell aka "the Shadow Master" is an intelligent villain who knows all rules. He can build an empire or grind you into dust but he’s about to fall victim to a plot from hidden enemies. The book doesn’t take itself too seriously and there are some laughs along..

This is one of the best stories I have ever come across in my life, since Quarter Share I have enjoyed Nathans Lowell’s unique unique storytelling ability. I am waiting on Book two.
Entertaining especially the performance. The hatred of the horse and taking joy in animal murder/terror is a little more serial murdery than funny super villainy.
