You could justify the relationship all you want and choose to believe it was ok. The story was well-written and brought you to care about the main characters. Having multiple perspectives was necessary for such a complicated story about neglect, drug abuse, and family trauma. Kellen may not have thought he was grooming Wavy, but he acknowledged what was happening was wrong when their relationship became sexual and it should’ve..

This book’s author needs to be on a watch list. This story is about “love” prevailing or in better words it’s about a 7 year old traumatized girl (Wavy) being groomed by a full grown adult and her immediate family being okay with it because they are negligent and abusive.
