Interesting story and very good character development. This book kept me engaged. I could hardly put it down.
I was enraptured from the beginning. Amazing story, perfect narration, A peek into how ugly life can really be for children but woven into hope and redemption perfectly.
Historical fiction, so well written you feel the cold when it is described, you feel the hope, you feel the love and the terror of trying to survive. Such a good story!
couldn’t finish it. this feels waaay too much like growing and has pedophile acts. could have lived my life without. definitely triggering for many populations.
I almost stopped and returned this book after the first few chapters because I couldn’t stand the narration… but each chapter has a different voice, so as I was getting sick of the little girl voice, the next chapter came along and saved me.I felt uncomfortable that I was so interested in where this book..
Well written and enjoyable. Shared this audible with a friend, something I don’t do often. Will be looking for more books by this author.
I could see this unfolding as I listened to heinous acts this man did to these girls, the lengths he took to hide them, and poor Michelle!!! I cried several times and suggest you watch the movie that was made as well.
Definitely worth your time!So glad Candice chose to share her story. It brought to life the truth that God sees us always and loves us!
I’ll admit things seem a little screwy with the whole setup which is probably why it caught my interest good enough to want to hear the whole story. Basically what the book did for me was to make me feel sorry for the many lost souls in this world who constantly live on hate, drugs,..
