There will never be a recreation of the excitement of opening the cover of a new Nancy novel when I was a girl. I was drawn to this series, and was not disappointed. Granted, it is not the 1928 version, but was a pleasing introduction of this much loved character in 2024.
I was hooked from beginning. Loved the way it was connected to Stacks in the Rack series by M. James.

This story read like an auto/biography! The unlikely main characters, Wavy and Jesse, are very “REAL” as Wavy says towards the end of the book. The story has multiple pov, but shifted characters well, you didn’t get lost or bored. The story itself was painful, but you fall in love with them and want a HEA for them.
I swear this character must be a cat, but instead of having nine lives she has nine opportunities to get caught and then escape per book. Judging a book by its cover…sometimes good people do bad things but this book reminded me not to jump to conclusions.

What a story. These girls are incredible for enduring what they went through for all these years. I can’t even imagine.
Not impressed. I guess I should have read all of the book cover and reviews. I can’t believe the boldness of those authors to make this age difference and rape sound like it’s ok.
