This story is completely inappropriate. It’s romanticizing a relationship between a child and a grown man. Absolutely could not finish listening due to being extremely uncomfortable.

Well researched story, just wish we could spend a little more time with the Brights and their raising of Leo/Alex through the rest of his years as a babu, a toddler, a child, etc.
I will fully admit the title captured my attention. Little did I know I was about to discover a piece of US history and culture I know nothing about. A wonderful read for high schoolers and adults. You won’t be disappointed!

This book was so true. The author’s descriptions of a mother’s feelings for older adopted children are more real than I have ever seen written anywhere. The problems written in this book are written with honesty and understanding. Great Job!!! I really appreciate the bibliography and suggested reading and writing at the end.
