Story was cool but boring. Narrator was horrible, she sounded sick and her nose was stuffed up. I was hoping it got better, but it didn’t. The whole time I had to try to ignore her nasally voice..
First the narration is marvelous! Each character was brought to life and personalities revealed through the narrators voice. Now onto the meat and potatoes. I enjoyed this book but it also made me cringe in several spots. A heart wrenching story of children exposed to, drugs, sex and abuse quickly becomes grooming, exploitation, statutory rape,..
I had a hard time with the underage nature of this entire story. Maybe for someone it would be a lovely story but I just couldn’t get past the nature of it.
A very classic and sweet Halloween tale, and I’d go so far as to say kind of relatable if you’ve ever felt like you get picked on too much. Well written, well voice acted & Carly-Beth is such a sweetheart!

There are probably readers out there who could follow along through the evolving love story between a very young girl and a much older man, but I couldn’t. I realize this says as much about me as the author. I was nt sure at the end of the novel if the relationship was “ugly” or..
