it got better, but it was a little bit “stereotypical” at first for all characters.
Great narration.

Super sweet story and Jorjeana does a fabulous southern accent. I really like both of these narrators. However, the reading by Jorjeana Marie has a ridiculous number of obvious corrections. The editor didn’t do a good job of making it sound like a continuous reading.
Excellent book we are not always so blessed to have such an easy life. The narration in the story was really good as well. Wonderful story about heartache, family, and survival.
It’s more a very biased opinion about romantic relationships from a very specific and quite narrow POV.
Disturbing and beautiful story; the title is so fitting. I could not stop listening. And the performance is fantastic!! Thank you for the ugly and beautiful in this book!
ARGH!!!! I hate, hate, HATE it when a book description doesn’t warn you that it isn’t the whole story. Ugh. I’m so pissed.

This book portrays a love story between a young girl and a grown man as healthy and loving. The girl is 8 when they meet! Makes my stomach turn. This is not satire like Lolita. The writer should be ashamed.

Laws are in place to protect children, however, how do you protect a child raised in such a disfunctional and crazy environment? Running a meth lab and a mother who couldn’t function, let alone raise her children. survival leads us to do questionable acts, and stays with us for life.
I came back to read this again after I read it years ago while I was still in high school. It was a decent read overall. I appreciate how straightforward everything is in this book. I was sort of disappointed with the ending but I don’t regret reading it again!
