Painful book to go through as I was born and raised in Latvia and heard many like stories while growing up. I was born in the year Latvia got its independence from Soviet. Greatly written and the story was very captivating!Amazing book over all .I shed some tears while reading / listening ….. highly recommend.

Many books have this contrived breakup or hardship that frustrates me enough I drop the author. I love the depth and creativity of this author. I laugh, I cry, and because the writing is so good It didn’t feel too long, I was grateful for a longer story to explore the relationships in greater depth…

I’m in a very different place in life and struggle but this book had me rejoicing and crying.

I hated when I had to stop reading this. I can understand why people didn’t love it, but I love the ugly parts, too. Life is ugly and wonderful.

Finished in one day start to finish. Couldn’t put it down. Loved it all. So real.

I loved the love found in this family. Life can be so hard. I cried and laughed and felt for the characters throughout this book.

This is now one of my favorite books. The storyline was excellent. At some point the narrator was a little nasally, but it didn’t take away from the book

This book had a good story line. The characters were well developed. The narrator was amazing. Very enjoyable book. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
