It’s hard to stop at the end of each chapter. This book will keep wanting you more until the end. Highly recommend.

Such great character development and wonderful humor! Just a super lame ending. Wish the author didn’t end it so quickly.

This was my first Susan Meissner book, but won’t be my last. Well written and a great, even though tragic, story line. Having experienced Covid epidemic, it brings more light to the Spanish Flu which occurred when treatments and care were much less available.

Whoa. Roller coaster of emotions and swinging allegiances throughout. So refreshing to read a book that is out of the comfort zone and hits the hard, taboo and ugly parts of life. A must read!

I really liked the friendship between Wavy and Kellen in the beginning. But when it took creepy pedophile turn, it started grossing me out. I understand they both needed and saved each other, but the graphic sex talk was so unnecessary, especially from such a child-like voice. Gross.

This is how society is going to eventually be numbed to and grow ambivalent about pedophelia—by being repeatedly exposed to fictional happy-ever-afters and “true love” stories between adults and children. What the author fails to do is show the impact of trauma on a child’s understanding of love, which absolutely contributes to Wavy’s early attraction..

Horrible, nasal-y narrator. I couldn’t make it past the 1st book in the series.

I was intrigued beyond words. Hating and loving all the characters. It took my emotions on a ride.

Although the subject matter is tough, you find yourself rooting for this unlikely couple. I couldn’t stop listening to this book!
