I loved the characters, the story continued to surprise me, and the narrators were all great. One of my favorites by this author and a top favorite overall.

This book had many uncomfortable moments. But the story, and performance are insanely good. So many reviewers who left one star reviews didn’t even finish the book. If you read this, be ready to feel a roller coaster of emotions. Keep an open mind, and enjoy the ride.

Nicely woven collection of perspectives from a family struggling through the 1918 pandemic and dealing with one child’s choice in the crisis.
Most will hate, some will love, everyone will think ugly at times. Life is different for a lot of people. But in the end you Love who you Love.
Grooming and pedophilia are not even close to what I expected from this book. Could not finish it.

This author somehow managed to turn a completely messed-up scenario in which we would ordinarily be indignant and disgusted into a beautiful love story.
(Spoilers)I can appreciate the story and the performance. The book was well written but the fact that this is romanticizing a 13-14 year old girl being with a 23+ year old man is frankly disgusting. It was hard to listen to. It’s a terribly sad story, that may have a “happy” ending, but it doesn’t..
