This book kept my interest throughout. Characters were well developed and you were able to connect with them. This would be a great book club book!

What a lovely, tragic, wonderful book! I didn’t expect to like the book as much as I did! Def worth a listen/read!
I have very strong feelings and emotions about this story, and I believe all good stories do. This is a heartbreaking look at reality of how the system can fail people. It churns you out and throws you to the wolves and leaves you to picked apart by anyone and everyone. Would Wavy have survived..
i was skeptical about this book. Scared that it would be too YA and that it would irritate me like many YA books do. But boy was I wrong. I felt all the emotions with the characters and I was completely drawn in by the story. I COULD NOT STOP LISTENING! The way it was..
This is not the type of story I like I like a lot more dialogue, but it was beautifully written, and it was very different. That being said the other tries to make it way to understandable how this relationship was pure I understand parental neglect, and young girls, with nothing grasping at whatever, but..
This book helped me validate my feeling that my husband has been visiting me in dreams, only a few so I struggled with believing it was real. I enjoyed the stories and love all the insight I can get into his new world so that I can still feel close to him and hope he’s..
Perhaps something occurs further on in the book to change it, but as far as I listened, this was about an adult man falling in love with a child. Much less important is that the performer slipped in and out of characters.
I’ve loved L’Engle’s books since I was in 4th grade and read “A wrinkle in time”. I’ve read most of her books and love them all. I read this one about the time my dad died of cancer when I was in my mid-20s. It helped me a lot with my feelings at the time…
Beautifully told from a child’s perspective of having to jump straight into adulthood too early. Same for most of the other characters. Enjoyed reading as I’m an educator of many similar situations.
I fell in love with this book in middle school and still routinely return to it. the writing, the story, the arc are all incredibly well done!
