Review from Strangers on a Train →
Do Not Read that was on of the most disgusting books I’ve ever read. I kept thinking it was going to be one of those stories that end up showing the long term effects of abuse and SA. But no, this is a book about a pedophile and his victim. after adult after adult saw..
The premise is good. Two elderly ladies and their quirky pets solving mysteries. However, it was difficult for me to get into the story. The majority of the characters were so unlikable that I found I could care less what happened to them, which made it difficult to continue reading. Worst of all, the mystery..
This was very hard to listen to at certain points in the story but the narration was entertaining and pretty on point with the characters. The main topic of the book was a young girl and an older male falling in love for the long haul while both suffered from traumatic family lives. I kept..
I can’t finish this book . It’s disturbing to listen to a grown man falling foe a child in 3rd grade. Even if the story ends with them falling and getting together when she’s older it’s still nasty. He watched her grow up. I just can finish it.
so many issues with these books. It is described as an epic love affair… I wouldn’t even classify these characters as being in love. More like infatuation. Jack treats the female lead horribly for 2 books and we are suppose to root for this ass and his weak willed insecure female? Can’t even finish this..
Review from All the Ugly and Wonderful Things →
Again if you’re a child abuse survivor do not read this book!!! A love story,Really??!! between an 8 yr old girl and a 26 year old man???!!!
The author did a great job! I don’t know how I feel about how the couple started their love affair, but the love they shared is beautiful nonetheless. The story is very unique and unexpected. I loved it!
Greenwood writes compelling characters and paints a story that falls into the “ugly” things of poor, small-town woes run by drugs. You want to root for a lot of the characters. The problem for me is that the stewardship between a neglected child and a man in the community is leading into, as the reviews..
I have never read anything like this but it is easy to see how someone’s life affects their views and judgement of others. It is also a testament to the human spirit of survival.
