A poignant and well crafted story told by a group of displaced people in WWII. Heartbreaking and inspiring as a tale of desperate survival and struggle in the face of a terrible terrible war.

The way that Kim writes is like listening to poetry, so beautiful considering the sadness of the time that this story takes place in. The story line and narrator were on point and I’m looking forward to my next read!

Amanda & the girls are so strong! Amanda fought til the end, and is a wonderful mother, daughter, inspiring person.

I could not stop listening to this book. It was like a car wreck….you can’t look away! It was well written and very disturbing! I absolutely loved this!

This book keeps you on the hook to learn about Wavy’s story. Her life is in turmoil. Her Aunt is trying to help her and I will be honest I very much dislike the Aunt. Awesome storyline. Keeps you interested. I couldn’t stop listening. I wanted to know the end. Highly recommend!!!

Meant to be read as a devotional, I devoured it quickly. It is filled with faith.

I truly enjoyed this heartbreaking novel. The story was sad but also inspiring. I was rooting for Cass the whole time! My only negative was that the narrator sounded like she had a really stuffy nose in some places. It was distracting.

One of the best audio books I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. Great story & excellent reading!!

This book was nicely paced with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. Highly recommend.
