Review from The Kingdoms of Savannah →
I loved this book because I too went through similar this past year and a half! My husband is now cancer free and can continue to watch his children grow up! Our relationship has changed so much for the better and he really is the love of my life š„°
I sit with tears streaming⦠Just moments after listening to every word of this incredible book. As promised it kept me captivated till the very end. It resurrected the ghosts of my soul from many lifetimes in a way that I am at a loss for words. Thank you George Dawes Green for this (and..
I have the paper copy aswell so couldn’t resist the opportunity to listen on the go. Highly recommended!
The many narrators was interesting after I got used to it, and LOVED the story and themes. Highly recommend!
I tried to get through this book but just couldn’t finish it. Too many voices that didn’t really go with the characters and so slow, I kept drifting away from the story and losing interest.
Green is a gifted writer whose other books have been tight, focused, and in some cases unforgettable. Here he tries to write a big sprawling novel about Savannah and misses badly. The narrative is confusing and tension is constantly interrupted by bewildering chapters where people talk about flowers and campari.
