I can’t believe I wasted my money on this hateful book. I do not recommend this book.

I tried to get through this book but just couldn’t finish it. Too many voices that didn’t really go with the characters and so slow, I kept drifting away from the story and losing interest.

Green is a gifted writer whose other books have been tight, focused, and in some cases unforgettable. Here he tries to write a big sprawling novel about Savannah and misses badly. The narrative is confusing and tension is constantly interrupted by bewildering chapters where people talk about flowers and campari.

Great narration Complicated, mysterious, intriguing story.Savannah Georgia residents and frequent visitors will love the the accurate descriptions of all the landmarks.

I’ve always been interested in the period just before WWII and this book doesn’t disappoint. I learned a few new things and enjoyed the names and aviation history. Great book for anyone who wants a fresh take on the 30s. Highly enjoyed it.
