This book is a wonderful continuation of the story of our surviving clan and their continued challenges in the broken world in which they find themselves. Kevin Pierce is particularly fantastic in his narration and the pacing was strong throughout this book.
I enjoyed the books quite a bit. Character development is fantastic. Really grabs you and pulls you into this apocalyptic world.
loves this book, very intriguing read. the narration was easy to follow. I had a hard time stopping as I couldn’t wait to hear more!
Madison and her mother are both neurotic and the belief that a teenage girl is going to be ‘more’ battle ready than the combat veterans IS hysterically funny. To say that this chick has more organizational/leadership skills and other abilities over her adult companions IS laughable. Talk about a narcissistic personality with hubris! Maria is..
This story is believable and at the same time holds to scripture. It is rapid paced, comfortable language, and captures interest all the way along. The characters are colorful, the conflict is suspenseful, and the outcome surprising and yet realistic.

So I got all five books for one credit, interested to see what Abrahams could do with these seemingly separate stories. Without giving too much a way, the stores end up being all connected, and they take a fun speculative fiction and slight sci-fi twist. But we’ll worth the listen – a credit well spent!
Pearce did his usual great job, but the story was terrible. The characters were so frustratingly stupid, I felt like I was listening to 50 plus hours of Abbott and Costelo meet Lucy and Ethel during the cyborg induced apocalypse. Good Luck
