Some responses from some of the characters were not realistic… for example, the teen age girl whose father was murdered execution style and mother kidnapped and later murdered quickly starts calling two people she hardly knows “mom” and “dad”… a lot of trauma just occurred for this young girl and acting like her parents are..

As suggested by Audible ratings guidelines, this is a “pretty good” telling of a grim story. Author Olsen covers the ground in meticulous detail, including large sections of riveting courtroom testimony in his account of the Tanya Reid case. Olsen’s use of literary devices such as metaphors and similes results in a swamp of purple..
I can’t say this is my favorite series of books but it makes you think. Not everyone is going to agree with the story line or enjoy the Bible verses but the story was well written and the narration was excellent. I enjoyed the series .

I’m on book 4 now . . . and first I’d like to say that Kevin Pierce is one of my most favorite narrators, having heard him read for several books now. I am finding it interesting that you can take pretty much the same cast of characters and spin several different stories around them…

I like post appo…books. Born and raised in nor/cal…I can hardly recognize my home state. I got quiet a bit of satisfaction from this story line. The state of Jefferson, if only it could be! Good read.
I’m sad to see this come to an end so soon. From the way it ended it seems as though there might be a next book in the future even though there is no mention of it. There’s always hope . LOL
