This book was a fast moving thrill. The people in the story are very determined and do normal people things. Kevin Pierce did a FANTASTIC job of telling this story.
September 2021 – Second time I listened to this story. Learned more. Will listen to again at a later time to pick up more things I missed the first two times.
While this series isn’t a great novel, it does provide a realistic scenario of a near future economic collapse and anti-Christian policies in the U.S. It has Christian based views, but that does not mean it isn’t a very plausible and likely future that we should all be considering.
I really like the characters in this series, and enjoy subtleness of certain adult situations, while not being prudish at the same time. the characters seem realistic although one aspect of Dan (more so in the first book , less so in this book) are a bit unrealistic but not to the extent it damages..
like all of Hortons other books. this one sucks you into the action and you can’t stop till the book is finished. well Done sir
While I had a bit of a hard time following the different character storylines at first, I quickly became invested in them. This is a fantastic series that is well worth a listen. If you don’t tear up at the end…. Well, let’s just say this series does not disappoint.
This edition, I regret to say may be the final edition, is suberbly written and narrated to close the saga of the Mad Mick and Barb.I can only hope Mr. Horton continues with the future exploits of Barb with cameo appearances of her father.I’ll keep following Horton to see if my wish comes true.
