There are pros and cons to this book. It was worth the credit for all 3 volumes, but I was fairly unimpressed throughout. The story was a 6 or 7 out of 10. The writing was a 5. The narration was a 3. The writing lacked realistic conversational style. I did a lot of eye-rolling..

The story continues, the Valley sees more trouble and must find ways to survive. This books keeps Jim and the group swinging once again. Franklin Horton does a another great job writing and the narrator is top notch!

Bizarre story. Check. Pleasant narrator. Check. Force yourself to listen to the first half then jump to the very end just to hear how it finally ends. Priceeeeeey. That is all.

Narrator needs more variations between characters. story seems too harsh and cold. But I’m not from WV mtns so I guess this isn’t meant for me. Still like AAmerican better
Kevin Pierce is the best in the business. He doesn’t need a warm-up act. The female actor – I found an unnecessary distraction and miscast for the role. The end left me hanging; wanting more…

Great series of books, keeps you on the edge waiting to find out what happens next.
Made the miles go by easily. As a truck driver driving nights, it is sometimes hard to find something to keep me entertained for hours upon hours late in to the night. This series kept me going. 39 hours and never a dull moment.
