Great story written for those that love the water. As the wife of a towboat pilot I really appreciated the authors love of towboats and the river. Some people want the catastrophe endings, I don’t. I appreciate the hope of good people doing the right thing and ending well.
narration was easy to listen to and kept characters distinct enough despite multiple stories simultaneously occurring during the same time line within the tale.
Good book! It gives the listener a good starting for getting prepared. It is very entertaining and woll cause you to be late for work. Most of all it is revenant to Christian values.(rated PG13 for violence not language!)
I wish all audiobooks could be as good as this! I listened to the last book but I think they can be listened to in any order. The fortunes of maybe 4 groups or people are followed. There is action aplenty and the story is very well written. Recommended!
I have listened to over 60 Audible titles several by Mark Goodwin, and this is the first time I have ever needed to write a review. Great book, I felt very connected to the characters.
I loved it and hate that it had to end! u also believe that something like either an EMP or major CME will occur sometime and it doesn’t hurt to be somewhat prepared. Our country also really need to invest in modernizing our electrical grid infrastructure !
I’m addicted to this series now. I’m actually falling behind on podcasts because I’m burning through these books! highly recommend. Somewhat scary to listen to because it is… painfully accurate to reality around us.
I really enjoyed the story , feel the antagonist are a little two dimensional and the religious stuff almost makes you cringe so hard you gag, but there are some good insights to be had.
The book continues on from book 1 The Unprepared. I enjoyed it very much. It was never dull and I found easy to listen to.
