A generally engrossing book of forensic investigations, but it gets derailed at times with detours into the psychological trauma of family and investigators. I suppose that is to be expected in this kind of book, particularly the compartmentalization necessary for those involved. But the presentation of it is so cloying and saccharine that it distracts..

I’ve enjoyed the first few books of this series. The author does a good job of painting the picture. It’s the first time I’ve read the point of view of the antagonists in a story. However disturbing it may be I appreciate the perspective. The story may be a bit slow in some ways though..
