I really enjoyed listening to Hunted. This book continues the story of Maddie’s family trying to get back together after an EMP takes down most of the US. This is an excellent collection of true crime by the best writers in the genre, read by my favorite narrator. Unfortunately, there are some annoying editing issues that I suspect are the result taking on such an ambitious project. Lines, and at times whole paragraphs, are frequently repeated.

The performance is great, but the underlying book just isn’t. It’s the sort of true crime story that would make an interesting magazine article, but it doesn’t have the intrigue or twists to justify a book length account.

I loved this story, with different points of view in the timeline. Realistic characters trying to get back home to families. I just get frustrated when characters question themselves if they are a bad or evil person because they killed a piece of scum. Wake up and toughen up or your as good as dead…
