Intriguing story but I could do without the 1.5 times a chapter it digresses into him describing what a physical and intellectual specimen his dad was. Like we got it from the first hundred adjectives you used, I don’t need it reiterated.
Mad Mick didn’t disappoint and the new characters were a good addition. Looking forward to the next book. Must listen or read!

You run 3-4 casinos in Atlantic City but never mention a single interaction with the mob controlling the territory? The total silence in that regard severely damaged the credibility of the story. …the vilification of poor people who don’t own their own homes or land. Narrator is solid but can’t do a British accent. Having said that, the character is very minor and makes the briefest of appearances.
The characters are way too starry eyed for anyone who has read even a few Post Apocalyptic novels. I found myself yelling, “Shoot him you idiot.” far too often.
