I really loved this series. It was informative and intriguing while entertaining, all at the same time.

I honestly could not get through this book. The narrator sounded like Bosley from the Charlie’s Angels television show. I normally enjoy highly descriptive books where the history of the area is provided by the author. However, because of the narrator, it sounded dull and uninteresting.

I can see how many of us would fall prey to this exit of being poor. Then add in the racial times and make up of the era. I find it fascinating seeing people’s life time line and hier reflection upon it. Great turn around!

I’ve always liked Kevin Pierce narrating but I had to rewind and listen again as someone reading or acting actually pronounced Mobile, Alabama correctly! Sometimes it’s the little things… as for the book, nice wrap up for the story without being too perfect. I have loved Grandma’s letters throughout the entire series.
