Review from Promises to Keep: After the EMP →
I like this genre, and this book is a good addition. It was my first time reading TL Payne, but will happily look for more. The characters and situations were interesting, and it all moved along at a good clip. My only negative is that the rest of the series is not available in audio..
I’m not sure I’m satisfied with the Biblical narrative at the start of each chapter that seems to be interpreted by the story that unfolds thereafter within the chapter. As if the meaning of the Bible passage is revealed correctly through the story. This is one writers attempt to do just that, but man is..
First of all you must like EMP/Post-Apocalyptic book as some of the book could be realistic while a couple not. The main characters of the book are Maddie (a teenager and runner) and Emma (10 yr. old who just witnessed her parents’ murder) who are escaping the dangerous airport in Chicago to get to her..
From the beginning of the series, Tom paints a picture of grief, love, and pain of a man tittering in the edge of madness. Through this journey, you hope for nothing but peace for this weary traveler. Thank you for letting us let a character that we have followed through battles with men and fights..
Loved it!!! Narrator did an excellent job again. I just wish they had out it in a series like the first book so you wouldn’t have to use 3 credits to get through the series.
The content is good and the performance is good, but overall, it’s just… good. I got some solid nuggets out of this book. The best way I can explain it is that I wouldn’t give this book a second read.
Before you discount this book because of that header, read on. As a relatively new fan of Mr. Craven’s writing, I’ve come to expect a nail biting cliffhanger at the end of his books, this one doesn’t leave you shaken wanting to scream. Great book and performance, lack of cliffhanger notwithstanding.
