I’d recommend it but it does suffer some from what seems to be the author’s desire to simply make a longer book. There are whole chapters that deal with some emotional, drawn out conversation between two characters that could’ve been covered in maybe two paragraphs. I was starting to really enjoy listening to No Direction Home and really getting into the characters and plot when the book ended. I think that was a mistake by the author. The setting up of the protagonist and his companions to separate themselves from the dictator-ish leader of their band was in my opinion..

I’m not sure how he did it but the second book is even better than the first. Great story. The characters are so real and well developed they literally could be my neighbors. I huge fan of teotwawki books and this series is easily one of my favorites.
