The story lacks suspense, depth and it’s repetitive. How many times do the same characters need to fight people, get captured and take over the enemy by force. I enjoyed this forst book, thirsty for the next book! The story was believable and kept me interested from start to finish.
Rape, child rape. Writer went for low hanging fruit to drive the story. Tortured savior.
Plenty of action and some good tips on survival. He laid out numerous helpful hints from gardening, to sight locations and great think processing .

Great story of when preparation meets tragedy. Excellent character depth and storylines. Kevin Pierce is the king of post apocalyptic narration.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The characters initially seem somewhat unidimensional, but build in complexity with each scene (not very different from the way we get to know people in real life). The plot is well-paced, flowing smoothly without being rushed. If you enjoy this genre, you’ll enjoy this series.
