Olsen’s writing is superb. Pierce’s narration is pitch perfect. Be ready to listen carefully to catch all the names and details. This is what we wish every audiobook would achieve.
Outstanding!

The scenarios presented were very realistic. I found the story interesting. it has a lot of characters so it took me awhile to keep them all straight but it really added to the breadth & depth of the story. There’s a lot of military & weaponry details, not much swearing, no sordid sex scenes, daily..
I enjoyed the realistic characters and plot. The entire series kept me intrigued when I often get bored at some point when reading a series.
There were no points at which I was entertained by this audiobook. The story was hard to stay focused on because it was just not interesting. The characters’ names really wore on my nerves. “Rank” and “Lug nut”. It sounds like something fromn 80s D-movie script. The narrator’s voice also grated my nerves. I know..
great realistic story telling without going overboard on the hellish examples of lawless times. there are some terrible events but it’s not drawn out and the book isn’t banking on this being a gory mess like so many others of this genre.
Well written and well narrated. There are some grizzly parts for sure, but it’s absolutely worth it. Unlike some books, all the different groups you follow are interesting – not just the main character. I recommended it to my husband and he enjoyed it as well.
Loved the storyline and it kept me wanting more. Stayed up listening until the wee hours of the morning.
It clicked all the boxes I have no complaints.Though I would be interesting to see Jim Powell and some of the other Valley dwellers make an appearance
