I was hoping for America to be saved in the end Kind of disappointing that they all gave up and left. But an amazing series.
The characters are ordinary people set in terrible situations. Very fast paced and exciting. You really get to feel the family dynamics but they welcome outsiders in their protection.
Love the unpredictible twists and turns this book made. I also love that it ended not as expected. Franklin Horton is truly an artist of words and Kevin Pierce does an amazing job bringing the characters to life!
Thus series kept my attention and was enjoyable to read. Definitely recommend and worth the time. Will listen to series again.
I’ve listened to so many of these post apocalyptic/societal collapse books. The Mad Mick was one of my favorites. I was so happy when he made an appearance and then when we got the full interaction between he and Pete it was like Christmas morning for my ears. I’m just finishing book two now and..
multiple story lines woven together in a gripping tale. It reminds me of the classic sci-fi novel Lucifer’s Hammer. Each book of this series is more like a volume rather than a separate book.

This is a post apocalyptic, super action packed, weaponology correct, mega ass kicking series that is absolutely my favorite. It’s 0400…let me get out of here to grab the second box set. I’m addicted. Love the character development. Never been invested much in the characters of this genre (heck I JUST branched out to fiction),..
From start to finish this was a great story! This book had lots of twist and turns you did not think of.
I picked the this one because it came with about 35 hours worth of listening time. I regret this. I do not and could not ever recommend this book series to friends, family nor strangers.
