Being born in the southern states, so much of this story was made more believable by the familiarity with the language and references. Gritty characters with such relatable traits made it easy to immerse in this colorfully woven tale. I look forward to the next chapters of this adventure.

Although the timeline seems a bit rushed, this is a wonderful series and easy to see how much research was involved. I recommend it!

I enjoyed this series for the most part; however, I found the constant reading of Grandma’s letters unnecessary, redundant and incredibly annoying.

The story was original and decent. The complete set could have been way shorter if the author didn’t repeatedly, ad-nauseum, get on his political soapbox. Conservative preaching throughout however a good story albeit repetitive, some witty banter, but super violent. Simplistic but entertaining.
