It started off good but then in the second book the self righteous speeches started and kept going. That ruined it for me. I was just waiting for it to be over. Too preachy and the combat situations were unbelievable.

We does every apocalyptic novel so rapidly descend into bad guys. Seriously, society fell to murderers and thieves in like less than 12 hours. This is not my idea of survival fiction. More like true crime and thats not what i wanted to spend my credit on. Does a true survival novel actually exist? ugh

Characters were believable and doubly so with the magic imbued by Kevin Pierce. I noticeably cared about their fate, to include the dispensation of justice on foes who could be both entertaining and simultaneously loathed.
