This was a good story. Overall, though, it did bounce around a little more than I like.

Harley Tate is a good writer, but she writes infuriating characters. I can’t stand main characters who think everything is their fault. The two female narrators are good. I didn’t like the male narrator. I literally skipped his chapters and didn’t feel like I lost any of the story.
Great series, the only thing “off” to me is the constant reiteration of the politics. Probably not as bad if you do one book at a time, but when you do the series over a couple days it almost seems like filler. Still a really great series.

Something seems to be missing from book 8… Right at the beginning of book 9 it mentions that there was a meeting with the Mad Mic, and that Charley got into trouble over shooting his daughter. I was like ‘where was that????’ I backed up to book 8 trying to find the chapter or chapters..
I absolutely love Apocalypse fiction. Franklin Horton is by far my favorite author. I was really hoping that I could get into this series, but I have never been so uninterested and bored reading apocalypse fiction. This is true stories. If you like true stories I think you’ll like this. There is several true stories in this. It shows you how crazy some people are. Kevin Pierce does a great job narrating this.
