Loved the story! Average people overcoming huge challenges and adapting to a new way of life. Grandma and her letters were my favorite part. The narrator is amazing as he perfectly brings each character to life.

A story that explores the close relationship of the backpacking world, skills, equipment with the basic needs of surviving during a collapse. I greatly appreciate Jim’s pragmatic, matter of fact view of events.

Wish I had a nickel for the number of times I heard, “shit hit the fan.” This term was far overused.

I loved every minute of this book. Jack Olson is the best! will read again

I enjoyed the majority of the book and liked the narration. Once in awhile there was a leap off the edge. Common depression relates to being a crack addict. Just blink and go on.

I appreciate a good post disaster series and would recommend this one to others. The story was likeable, believable and the characters were relatable.
