The author pulled no punches with the level of detail he provided, which I do appreciate. The story covered several decades, and different threads (or perspectives) of the story were told at different times. Women are helpless and can’t make their own decisions. They are depicted as weepy, lazy and argumentative. Maybe not as argumentative as the chauvinistic main character. I knew nothing about the author Jackson but decided to listen to this book being Kevin Pierce is the narrator. However even Kevin couldn’t make this bearable. It was like watching paint dry. I fell asleep too many times to count. Awful book. Save your money/credits.
