I’m thoroughly enjoying the adventures of Captain Carl and his band of goodhearted scoundrels. Each chapter is an interesting story on its own, each with a different premise, but woven together chronologically. Emphasis is on the characters, but the combination of magic and tech (or disastrous non-combining of them) adds dimension to the story and..
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this well written epic fantasy series. Made my daily commute more interesting and time just passes by as I listen to the story. Author did a great job providing details of each character, scenes and events. Narrator was excellent. I was saddened when I finished this series . Can’t wait..

It was never adventurous, funny or clever. quit halfway through the first book. Hated Naramore’s character voices. Felt annoying and cliche.
Initially I found the two main female characters to be unbelievable annoying. Eventually they just became a mild irritation to an otherwise interesting story. The Japanese character kept using “ancestors” as some kind of interjection but as someone who has Japanese family living in Japan, I’ve never heard anyone ever use that kind of exclamation…
