This story was a massive letdown from Galactic Outlaws. Characters for the most part were forgettable or insufferable. Story dragged on and was uninspired. Cedric the Brown is no Mort and Kendra was annoying to no end. The only slightly interesting character was Roland Kane. performance was very good at least.

This is a great showcase of how things work in the Black Ocean Universe, wrapped up in a neat package. It is interesting listening to this one after finishing all of “Galaxy Outlaws” and “Mirth and Mayhem” since the narrator hadn’t settled into Mort’s voice yet. Still loved it!

The story is great! I’m really loving it and you get a lot of value for one credit here. But the playback has many parts that loop back on itself then pauses. You hear it in the sample too. Now I’m like 30 hours in and the book won’t play any more. It’s just stuck..
The stories in these books are good but I couldn’t get past the vulgar blasphemy used by one of the characters. I had to stop listening because it was so offensive.
esper loses her magic and makes a mess of herself for atleast 7 books. takes on a child, takes on a man child. it seems to me that esper lost her magic because the author made her potentially too powerful. i loved the previous 2 series
