Although they stressed me out something bad. This was a beautiful story between 2 friends that fell in love and became more. I almost didn’t think they’d make it but they did. Watching them overcome the obstacles they encountered was beautiful. Definitely worth the read.

I appreciated many things about this story and its context, but the writer clearly needs time and more experience with character development, plot depth, and story arc. I want to uplift BIPOC authors and stories featuring characters that deal with the complexity of their identities, but this one needs more time.

There are chapters that I have to go back and listen to and some chapters that were just unnecessary. The story got too convoluted toward the end but, still, this was a lovely effort by a talented writer. I enjoyed so many parts of it. I am not desperate to dive into the second book…
Female narrator is awful

Listening to the narrators are a major part of bringing the story to life. Please replace the female narrator! However, the story is a great.

I loved how Rhythm was strong and new whst was for her. that daddy was ready…lol. I hate I passed this book up so many times had it in my not read yet list. Raheem was a mess and Imani needed some hits…lol it was good.
Charlie L Wood and Jaime Lincoln Smith did an AMAZING job narrating this book! Their voice, pacing, and delivery was very good and kept me engaged in the story. They perfectly captured the characters’ personalities and really brought the story to life. I loved them so much and look forward to reading more books narrated..
I loved this series! The characters were well developed and I love how they all were growing. The story line was amazingly written. Chanel is a pain in the but and I hope Staten wakes up to her soon. Great job!
