I really enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator has an excellent way of differentiating between characters. Story wise, I was hooked. What started out as a slow paced world building, quickly became a fresh perspective on magic, sci-fi and serious Anastasia vibes. Loved the bickering between Hallie and Kase. Overall I really enjoyed this book! The characters were very fun and I liked the relationships between them. The banter was silly and fun to listen to. The story has a decent pace and it was a fun ride! I would absolutely recommend it to my friends. There are a few things that i think..
I loved this twisty, action-packed story about a group of people who were granted power by a big event. At first, the Gifted are accepted and acclaimed. But then jealousy sets in and persecution follows. Reminds me of a Tricia Goyer WWII novel – a high compliment indeed! There’s also an X-Men meets that first..
Love love love.

Seems like.every time the female lead POV was narrated religious references were in every other sentence. I liked the story overall but it was tough to finish.

This book was very painful to listen to, and I only finished it because I used a credit. The author inserted the word “stars” for every possible curse word, phrase, insult, and for all ranges of emotion. I felt this was a lazy way of writing, and I wish the author was more creative with..
The absolute desperation at which the author attempted to insert the word “star” into every other sentence was painful to listen to. There is no romance, which is fine but don’t advertise this as anything even remotely romantic or having any sort of romance because it doesn’t. The world the author is trying to build..
