If half of what is in this book is correct, we are in trouble. Well written and well reasoned as far as I can tell.

It’s hard to get past the authors constant reference to evolution while completely discounting God in the formation of the human mind.

Listened to twice in a row. I wanted to better understand the vectors and weights process. Otherwise, all other explanations and examples painted clear enough mental images to ponder on. This book is a Great listen, It is Thought provoking. The future of AI is a bit scary.

Powerful, imaginative polemic warning of the dangers of artificial superintelligence. Does not require us to forgo practical use of LLMs, generative AI in the near term, just unrestrained pursuit of technology by self interested and dangerously optimistic tech developers. Highly recommended.

This is not a technical treatise. Those who criticize it for that miss the point. Humans have created some amazing technologies over time. Most succeed, but some fail. It’s a difficult argument to articulate, but the authors are amongst the most well positioned in the world to make it, and they totally succeed. A worldview changing perspective on how hopeful and optimistic the Ai industry is and how ill-prepared it is to tackle the task of building super intelligence.

Everyone should read/listen to this book. Most people are worried about how to make a buck with AI. It seems kinda silly after listening to this perspective.
