I’m not sure we can hold back the rush to build superhuman intelligence but the risk is definitely there if we don’t. Will humanity will see the urgency of the situation? I don’t know, this day and age it is very difficult to get consensus on anything, though there is always hope.
Possibly the most important book ever written. If you’re interested in AI, this is a must read. We all need to get our priorities straight.
Ok read. Not very convincing arguments. Can sound too simplistic or even silly at times.
Irrational leaps in logic, too many unhelpful analogies, wild assumptions about human passivity, and machine ‘wants”. Deeper and more serious work is required on this vital subject – this book is not it sadly.
The First 6 chapters are quite a lot of throat clearing that feels like very familiar territory if you’ve investigated the topic of AI risk even a tiny bit. I’d even go as far as to say that first half of the book feels quite tedious and pedantic, given the title of the book. By..
