this is a great start to a series, albeit a bit slow moving. it does set up for a great future though
Literally every fight Lindon has been in has been disappointing up until ghostwater. Then he fought Ekeri and I thought this might finally have a character with a spine and skill to back it up. Then every fight after that felt…so Deus ex machina with Dross involved. Then he goes back to getting his ass..
Often as I listen through book after book, I find the story waxing and waning based upon the author’s skill and imagination in crafting their stories. This particular story is definitely “waxing.” It’s better than the last book and has me hurriedly reaching to download the next in the series. Well done Mr. Wight.
This is a pretty good series. They’re just very short. I believe I am on the fifth book but I just can’t justify spending the money for such short books.
This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This is another great entry that should be purchased immediately.
I think this is my favorite book in this series, and I’ve listened to them all at least 3 times. The introduction of a certain character, and what unfolds sets the stage for what is come in an awesome way. The narration is awesome, and this entire serious is beautifully written. Fast paced story-telling and..
I’ve never been more grabbed by a fictional magic world from a book before this one. Not too long for the 1st book in the series, but it encapsulates so much and does a good job of explaining what’s to come. Fantastic book that I highly recommend.
To the author, narrator & all those that made this audiobook series possible. Gratitude. This one enjoyed the series very much and is hungry for more.
