Holy heck does he love his magic system, so much so that he forgot to write a story to go with it.
Ugh, all magic system, no story

… you SOB. I laughed out loud. Twice. Between the Akira Toriyama reference and — Little Blue with a knife — this is a great culminating addition to the storyline. Loved it.
There are a lot of sub-par cultivation and litrpg novels out there, but this is not one of them. Incredibly well written with a fascinating world and layers upon layers of action and power. I often struggle with such large power gaps in a magic system but it’s clear even from book one how far..
I saw a couple reviews stating it’s like a video game story in book form. Very accurate. Started great and half way through was just a mess. Was hoping to find a news series to enjoy. Don’t waste your credits.
It’s eye roll cringe from the beginning. It hits all the typical points of prepper fiction. The wife character is about the stupidest, most frustrating I’ve come across in my reading and that is saying something. They protagonist made it all the way to Baltimore from the mid west and then once he gets to..
So I’m a HUGE fan of Will Wight… especially the Cradle series… this is not that, but if you love Cradle, you will like this. The characters are interesting and the world is fun.
Entertaining book and different spin. Looking forward to the follow ups to this story. I hope it involves more werewolves, vampires, and other monsters.
