Looking for a free audiobook series I found this and have it a try. Wonderful world and character building. I might have listened to all nine books in a single week … I totally did. They’re great fun. Even though there aren’t any huge surprises the journey is fun and the narrator top notch.
I enjoyed listening to the book while exercising. I liked its explanation of chi and cultivating. The main character has drive and discipline. What I would like to see is a character with more spiritual depth and heroic qualities. The cultivating seems to have everything to do with physicality and nothing to do with enlightenment…
This of fantasy writing at its best. To fathom the imagination of Mr. Wight is mind boggling. It’s a must read for anyone who loves this genre.

Story starts slow and the terms and characters are hard to figure out initially. However if you stick with it you do get invested in the characters and storyline. I’m already reading soul Smith. Definitely worth the listen. Performance is outstanding.

First, the narration: Travis Baldree does well. Into the 3rd book, nearly 20 hours of the story, and his voice is not tiring or annoying. The story is good. Interesting, a wide and ever-expanding world, and does well not to trip itself up with mistakes. The only issue and warning I think future reader/listeners should..
