While I don’t understand or like the way he chose to start the book. I get why it was needed for the story. The overall story itself was pretty good. Kept me listening for many hours at s time.

It started okay keep my attention until maybe the community events, after that. I had to stop and start several times. Even went back and listened to parts again because it just did not keep my interest.
My advice would be to have all the books and read them back to back. It’s a very interesting and fun story so it’s better to be able to hop onto the next book immediately to satisfy your hunger.

I found the opening a good candidate for an audio book. The author did a good job of capturing the Eastern attitudes to hierarchy and obedience, two concepts that don’t sit as comfortably with ingrained Western concepts.
