The unique and diverse personalities of all the characters are vividly portrayed by the narrator making the story easy and very enjoyable to follow. The voices of Fury and Dross are hilarious.

very well written. After the last book, “skysworn” which in my opinion was a setup, shorter, mostly boring book, this is quite the opposite. It actually seems more of “side quest” for our MC, but ends up being the most exciting adventure to date. Our MC gets a taste of things he needed, and shows us once again..

The magic system is interesting and intricate (and I’ve been re-reading the cosmere, so I’m spoiled when it comes to cool magic systems…), the main character is relatable and likable, the world building is FANTASTIC, and the story is amazing. Loved every page, and will be continuing this series

The scope of this series reminds me of a less dense Wheel of Time, while the story is a classic shonen anime/manga, there’s even a tournament arc!

Absolutely loved this book. Books one and two had me hooked, but book three has me longing to know what happens next. I haven’t felt this drawn into a series of stories since the Sword of Truth books.
5 stars. Something new and fresh. Excellent beginning to what I know will be a worthwhile journey. Keep them coming.

I’m 4 hours in. One interesting thing has happened in 4 hours. otherwise it’s just narration that goes on & on & on & on….I’m disappointed really, because of all the reviews that promised a good listen. It’s too much talking & nothing really happens. I keep thinking something will happen…and then just more talking…
