That story was very mid. It drug on in places where you could feel the padding almost palpably. Also there was a lot of out of nowhere fourth wall breaking that is only partially addressed in one particular place in the book and never touched on as to why it’s being broken to begin with…

Stilted narration, wasn’t great for me

The narration seemed stilted, I assume it was meant to be that way. Weird comments about information requested, denied.. etc. For mr it just disrupted the performance. I believe I got these on a deal, so I will probably finish them. It’s kind of nosies in your ears for me, not super engaging.

Really interesting world and not the usual eurocentric we see with so much fantasy. I’m so glad I found this series as this first novel has me eager to continue. Just wish more people knew about it!

I thought this series would miss the mark based on the description. I can’t remember being more wrong about a book. Will Wight has created something magical with Cradle, and I can’t recommend it enough.
