Balance of Magic is intense, brutal and considetably more complex than the previous book There are new characters,  the originals develop depth and the villians wonderfully nasty. I enjoyed how unpredictable the story was. The narrator did a great job.  I received a free copy of this book and am voluntary leaving a review.   

I read a significant amount of wuxia fiction. this is beyond worth a listen. excellent narration as well

How are you supposed to order the next boom when the “audible original” marking OBSCURES the Volume? What nitwit thought that was a good idea?

Holy crap this is one beautifully crafted story! The bloopers might be the best part.

I was not surprised at all during the story seeing as it is a mystery I would hope for some. The writing itself and the story were magnificent. I also thoroughly enjoyed the voice acting.

I did not enjoy this book and the voice of the narrator didn’t help much. The hero of the story is conniving, dishonest, unlikable, and just a pain. I did not enjoy the plot either

A nice change of pace from fantasy inspired by medieval Europe, Unsouled takes inspiration from asian cultures while creating a world that feels fresh and new. This book has great characters and a great story that has guaranteed I will continue with the Cradle.

the naming convention of the story and overall naming of everything will cause the listener to unwillingly and unknowingly stop focusing on the story. then suddenly find themselves in an action packed scene. needing to skip back an unknown amount of time to figure out what happened. difficult to create a bond or idea with..

2.5 hours in and I’m setting it aside. It’s not awful, but the story isn’t engaging and the characters are flat. I was excited by the shinning reviews. I just can’t see how it will deliver. I wouldn’t recommend using your credit here.
