This author delivers a great story with nuanced character development offering flawed individuals that you also can’t help but empathise with. Excellent narrative structure and pulpy enough to entertain us horror fans this book is a great combination of literary and pop styles. Wonderful narration as well.

This feels like a Dresden fanfic or spinoff. The magic and world isn’t well told. There is barely any magic used by lazurus even though he keeps talking about using it. all in all its ok.

I received this listen in exchange for an honest review. This is a good start on what could develop into a fine fantasy adventure. The characters are believable and has a mixture of action and intrigue. Well worth the listen.
